Electronic and website enhancements

Waterloo has committed to the Wireless City Initiative in order to facilitate an ease of interaction with local government, an initiative that will include projects such as:

• Electronic presentation of billing information: Tax bills and other accounts will be positioned for electronic delivery and presentation.
• Waterloo Store Online: This service will allow individuals to purchase and pay online for items offered for sale by the City of Waterloo.
• Chat with your Councillor: Residents will be able to "chat" with their municipal representative online.
• Hosting services: This service will look at providing an equal opportunity to all community groups and neighbourhood associations for the hosting of their website and giving them a presence on the Internet.
• Municipal elections: The City is committed to actively pursuing the use of newer technologies for the purposes of conducting municipal elections. This may include electronic voting via the telephone and Internet.
